San Diego Pride, the nonprofit organization that produces the annual parade and festival celebrating the LGBTQ+ community, held its first-ever fashion show fundraiser on March 28th 2026 at the U.S. Grant Hotel. Giovanni Trimble was featured among five local fashion designers. Amber St. James, San Diego Pride's programs director, said the proceeds will support the organization's year-round programming and philanthropy. "We wanted to introduce another way for folks to be able to engage with us in a philanthropic way and recognize that the fashion world was an untapped market that we personally hadn't gotten involved in," St. James said. "Queer people have always used fashion as a way to push back, as a way to defy, as a way of expressing what it is that this world, unfortunately, tries to stamp out of all of us."

Hold Yourself Together

Hold Yourself Together: Ecofeminist Systems of Repair is an interdisciplinary environmental art project led by Giovanni Trimble that transforms discarded textiles and found materials into a collection of 8–10 avant-garde, gender-inclusive wearable sculptures. The project addresses two urgent challenges: textile waste and the systemic exclusion of diverse bodies from fashion and sustainability narratives. Through a collaborative, interview-based design process, each garment is co-created with its wearer, translating personal experiences of visibility, marginalization, and empowerment into material form. This methodology positions participants as co-authors, advancing an inclusive model of design that centers lived experience. The project culminates in a publicly accessible exhibition featuring a live runway presentation, sculptural prototypes, lino-cut printed textiles, and video-art projections. This interdisciplinary format expands the definition of sustainable fashion beyond product, presenting it as a relational and ecological system. By integrating environmental responsibility with social equity, the project offers an innovative framework for regenerative design that is both materially and culturally impactful. Trimble is currently applying to grants and seeking seeking fiscal sponsorship to actualize this project.
