Beyond these specialties, Haus of Closure is deeply shaped by the creative energy of the San Diego LGBTQ+ community and the expressive force of drag culture. This influence informs not only the aesthetic language of the house, but its commitment to visibility, transformation, and self-definition through dress.
At its core, the work is driven by a passion for expanding non-binary representation in fashion and style, creating space for identities that exist beyond conventional frameworks. Each piece reflects an ongoing dialogue between individuality and community, where adornment becomes a powerful tool for affirmation, performance, and presence.
This ethos extends into a growing body of hand-drawn community portraits, intimate studies that document the people and stories behind the work. Rendered with the same care and intentionality as each garment, these drawings honor the nuances of identity, embodiment, and expression, preserving moments of connection while celebrating the individuals who continue to shape and inspire the Haus of Closure narrative.

About Haus of Closure
Haus of Closure is an interdisciplinary luxury fashion house specializing in custom leather couture, accessories, and sculptural garments that transform discarded materials into refined, avant-garde design. Rooted in ecofeminist values, the house centers care, interdependence, and material agency, elevating reclamation into a practice of both craftsmanship and cultural significance. Each piece is conceived as wearable art, balancing technical precision with a deeply considered approach to identity, embodiment, and environmental responsibility.
Founded by Trimble, the practice is both artistically and socially driven. Their methodology is grounded in a structured, interview-based collaboration with each wearer, documenting lived experiences of empowerment, marginalization, and embodiment. These narratives directly inform every stage of the design process, from material selection to silhouette and construction, resulting in garments that are conceptually rigorous and intimately personalized.
This approach responds to a persistent equity gap across both fashion and sustainability sectors, where women, transgender, and gender-diverse individuals, particularly those across a spectrum of body sizes and abilities, remain underserved. Many collaborators come to the house after prolonged difficulty finding garments that fit, affirm, or reflect their identities, often describing a sense of disconnection from their own bodies.
Haus of Closure addresses this by tailoring each piece to emphasize the aspects of the body the wearer chooses to highlight, restoring a sense of agency, visibility, and self-definition. Custom leather couture and accessories further extend this commitment, combining traditional techniques with experimental form to create enduring, one-of-a-kind works.
Beyond the garment, Trimble’s interdisciplinary practice incorporates sculpture, printmaking, and video, translating these personal narratives into immersive runway presentations, installations, and community-centered engagements. Through this expanded framework, Haus of Closure positions fashion as a site of social repair, environmental accountability, and collective resilience, where material, maker, and wearer are held in deliberate and meaningful relationship.
